Susan Sykes was a dear friend, my older hermana. My party buddy and confidant; we were co-workers and housemates for a bit. By the time they diagnosed her breast cancer in April of 2005, it had already spread. The prognosis was grim, and they opted for aggressive treatment. Daniel & I (+ Merle!) drove up to Santa Fe in December 2018 to support our friend Elizabeth's Betsy Fest.
