Merle though the Years

June 5, 2022 By Jamie Manser Leave a Comment

Our bright-eyed, waggy-tailed fur baby was sweetness personified, exuberant, funny, fun, silly, quirky, and so very very cute! Merle loved his pack, his human friends, travelling, hiking and road trips. He was our adventure-seeking travel companion who enjoyed jaunts to Ocean Beach, and our cross-county excursions to Minnesota and Wisconsin. For the last 10 years, he lived with Valley Fever and patiently accepted us shoving fluconazole down his throat daily. As he aged, galliprant was added to help with pain, and more recently gabapentin. His attitude stayed steadfastly good; he was inspiring.

Merle squeezed every bit out of life that he could. He was thrilled to take daily walks with his daddy up until the day before he was released from his pain, illness, and age. He had a profound impact on us and we will miss him deeply. Merle was a passionate, curious, kind, loving creature who will always live in our hearts. Thank you to all of our friends & family who shared his 14 year journey on spaceship Earth.

He was in our lives from Aug 8, 2008-May 14, 2022.

He wasn't into these antlers, but he sure looked cute!
This was our Christmas card one year. He was sweet and mostly patient when we took this shot.
He is trying to look dignified.
So photogenic!
His eyes are so expressive.
So serious!
Merle and Annie!
He loved his crate. It was his little den.

Always handsome!

I always loved taking his photo.

Get that damn water off of me!
He does not like a bath.
Not liking what is about to happen.
Goofballs!
