I’m working on a grad class proje
ct for LIS 515 – Information Organization – and I am dedicating my studies to KXCI. The first assignment is to: “identify a collection of resources that (a) you are very familiar and knowledgeable (b) need to be (better) organized (c) has a community of users who wish to access the resources.”
Amanda Shauger thought KXCI’s Locals Only would be a good fit. She was right.
But, I am not totally “familiar and knowledgeable” with all of the bands listed below. If you are, I would be appreciative of your input on the genres, musicians, album names, if you know them – please list all of those aspects in the comments section!
Thanks to Don Jennings, the amazingly awesome decade+ long DJ of Locals Only for providing the list below of his interviews.

Awesome, thanks Louie!
If you wanted the actual members who performed on Locals Only, David Williams was on drums. Mike Herman was their previous drummer.
Last Call Brawlers 2003 release was on Rock-n-Roll Purgatory Records out of Ohio. Recorded at Wave Lab, produced by Jim Howell, art work by Tom Walbank. Marty Muertos – vocals, Justin Valdez- guitar, Eric Eulogy- upright bass and Stephen Howell on drumes.
Thanks so much Justin! If people are searching for specific music genres, what would you say LCB falls under? Like – rockabilly, rock, punkabilly, etc.? Other genres you can think of?
Here’s a blurb for The Carnivaleros:
The Carnivaleros combine moody Eastern European motifs, western movie themes, and stories of our shared American experience with strains of Zydeco rhythms, Tex-Mex polkas, and swing.
I appreciate this Gary! Do you remember what band members performed on the show & their instruments?
Hi Jamie! Here are the parts I can remember about Innisfail, haha
Album: “Self Help”
Style: guitar driven, ethereal, and um, well…often compared to Incubus Deftones and Radiohead.
People:
Eric Welch (Original bassist)
Brandon Waits (Spirit guitars)
Nick Fiello (Bass)
Josh Harrison (Drums)
Matt Mortimer (Guitar)
Carlos Arzate (Vocals)
Jesse Campbell (Guitar).
